This is one of many animated shots we did for the last season of "Bass Edge" television show on the Versus Cable channel. We used Mental Ray in Maya, and Vue xstream. We were on very tight deadlines, and produced 2 animations in HD per week for 13 weeks.
The fish was modeled and rigged by a co-worker. The animation of the fish was done by another. The lighting/shaders/rendering of the fish was done by me. I also created/rendered all of the background plates in Vue. This was a very challenging project, mostly because we got the script and story boards on Mondays, and have to have completed animations the folowing Mondays.
There were plenty of things that could have been better, but there was just no time.
